Occupational Therapy
The ultimate goal of occupational therapy at The Shirley Aninias School is to enhance our students’ independence and quality of life, enabling them to participate more fully in their educational programs and community activities. Our therapists are New York State Licensed and collaborate with head teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop individualized plans for our students that include:
- Activities to improve fine motor skills
- Sensory integration
- Self-care abilities
- Social skills
- Academic performance.
Therapy is provided in both individual and group sessions utilizing our state of the art sensory gym or pushed in within the classroom.
