Message from our Principal
Welcome to The Shirley Aninias School (or SAS as our students say!) When thinking about what inspired me to open a school, I always reflect on a self-contained classroom in my high school that profoundly impacted me. The students in that classroom, despite their challenges, were fully integrated into the school community. They participated in specials, assemblies, prom, lunch, and extracurricular activities. Their joy and excitement at being part of a school community were evident in their expressions and actions, inspiring me to one day create a school where children of all abilities could feel that same sense of belonging.
The Shirley Aninias School is the realization of that dream. Founded with a vision to provide a highly engaging environment tailored to students' specific needs, we strive to enhance their social, emotional, language, academic, and life skills. Our individualized education model ensures that each student can grow, make meaningful progress, and learn independence in a supportive and unique community.
Since opening our doors in July 2022, The Shirley Aninias School has become a testament to the power of dedication, unity, and perseverance. Our school for neurodiverse learners has flourished into a vibrant community of families, educators, exceptional students, and alumni.
Inclusivity and acceptance continue to be the cornerstones of our school community, bringing me immense joy and purpose. Looking toward the future, I am filled with hope and excitement for the continued progress of our beloved school. Nurturing dreams is a lifelong journey, and our commitment to each child's unique path remains steadfast. Together, my staff and I are dedicated to celebrating each student's individuality and unique mind.
I am delighted and proud to share our school with you. I invite you to visit The Shirley Aninias School to witness the magic of our classrooms and experience the joy and purpose of our teachers, students, families, and special community.
With heartfelt gratitude and endless optimism,
Shirley Aninias
